Patrol Division

The Patrol Division is the nucleus of the Pekin Police Department and has the responsibility of responding to criminal incidents as well as calls for service. Because patrol officers respond to a wide variety of calls, they must be trained to handle many different situations.

Officers are trained in a variety of areas including:

  • criminal investigations

  • accident investigations

  • breath-alcohol testing

  • defensive driving

  • juvenile law and procedures

  • evidence collection

  • crime prevention

The Patrol Division operates twenty-four hours a day, three-hundred and sixty-five days each year. It is the "visible" component of the Pekin Police Department and the most readily available to the public.

The responses and attitudes of the uniformed officers of the Patrol Division define the image of the entire Pekin Police
