Accident Reconstructionists are called out to handle fatal or serious accidents that occur in the City of Pekin.  They assist Tazewell County with marking the scene, taking photographs, and determining measurements.  Accident Reconstructionists are required to take a seven week course on Crash Investigation.  After the initial class is completed they are encouraged to further their education and enroll in higher level Crash Investigation classes.  The classes are offered through Northwestern University Center for Public Safety and vary in difficulty depending on the course level.  Accident Reconstructionists utilize software programs paired with drone technology to create 3D renderings of accident scenes for court purposes.
